Being a new blogger is confusing & hard. There are hundred things to learn & millions of blogs to compete with. Every blog post seems a challenge & there is an anxiety on what to post. This is a common feeling for most of new bloggers & if you are going through the same feelings, then you are going to be a great blogger. There are some content related tips you should take care of while entering the blogging world.

  • Do Your homework: When you decide to start a blog, plan what kind of contents you are going to post, what kind of information will you blog about. Plan atleast first 10 posts. Give major emphasis to first few posts as they shape your blogging style.
  • Keep up a regular pattern: When you start blogging, keep up a pattern of posts, like 2 posts per week or 5 posts per week. Make a schedule, so when start getting noticed; people know when to expect your next post. Posting irregularly won’t get you any readers. I am vary of visiting blogs, which are really great, but update when they seem to have time. In such situations, I check the blog till I have the patience, & then desert them!
  • Language: Write in crisp English, with proper grammar. Writing in improper English like “i aint losing any sleep” is a strict NO. Better don’t start a blog if you can’t write in proper English. Also, no spelling mistakes either!!
  • Decide your niche subject: Decide the main area of blogging well in advance; even before deciding your blog name, treat it as the most important aspect of blogging. Your content is the main anchor which will attract readers, so better make it your strongest point!

Content quickies for newbie bloggers:

  • Mention your blogging aims or purpose of the blog on a highlighted corner, so viewers know what to expect.
  • Golden rule: Always read your text before posting.
  • Focus on a subject about which you have a good knowledge or experience.
